BACKPACK PROJECT!  Please help St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church reach out to the greater East Bay community.  We are sponsoring the “Backpack Project" which is a drive to collect 100 backpacks filled with school supplies for the children at St. Cornelius School in Richmond. St. Cornelius is a Catholic school that gives underprivileged kids in the Richmond area a chance to have a great education and stay safe despite living in poverty.

So, when you are out shopping and are interested in donating to a very worthwhile cause, pick up an extra back pack, school supplies or both to give to the children at St. Cornelius. You can drop all this off in the entrance to the church or in the church office any time after May 30, 2010.    Getting our children involved in shopping for these items is a great way for our kids to see how lucky they truly are and to get that great feeling of helping others.  Attached is a list of the supplies needed, monetary donations are appreciated as well.  Please label what grade you are providing the supplies for when you donate any supplies. This donation is tax deductible through the office and will make a huge difference in a child's life!!

Our deadline is August 8.  St. Stephen’s outreach will be organizing and sorting all the supplies later in that month, date to be determined.  If you would like to be involved in that, please email Rev. Mary for that information.  We would love to have you and /or your kids join us if you are interested.
