CARING HOTLINE
This group of volunteers offers support to the Parish in a variety of caring and compassionate ways.  Dinners are coordinated to assist families busy welcoming a new baby and families coping with a serious illness or a death.  Transportation can be coordinated to assist with arrival at church events or outside appointments.

EUCHARISTIC VISITORS
This is a group of people from our church who are trained and licensed to take Communion to the homebound and hospitalized.  They are commissioned at the close of the main Sunday Eucharist with the following words: "N., in the name of this congregation, I give you these holy gifts, that those to whom you go may share with us in the Sacrament of Christ's Body and Blood."
Contact: Fr. Hunter, 254-3770

INTERCESSORY PRAYER
The Intercessory Prayer Group was formed more than 30 years ago to pray for the needs of all who ask for prayers.  The names of those seeking prayers are called to the chairperson of lists, and these are relayed to the persons on the prayer chain.  We pray daily, not only for those on the list, but for the well being of St. Stephen’s Parish.  Meetings are held each month on the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays following Holy Communion and all are welcome.

NEW PASTORAL CARE PROGRAM: HELPING HANDS ~ LOVING HEARTS
Are you willing to lend a helping hand to your St. Stephen’s Family?

~   Occasionally, those in our family could use some food taken to them.  For example, after a death in the family, after a new baby, after a hospital stay, or some kind of family emergency.
~    Occasionally, there are times when a caregiver needs a break.
~    Occasionally, people who cannot drive need a ride to a church event.

We are putting together a master list of those who can provide such a helping hand.  This is where you come in!  Jamie Christensen (who has stepped forward to coordinate this ministry) will connect the helper with the person who is in some need of temporary assistance.

Here is how it works:
First, if you are able to provide food, caregiver relief and/or a ride, please phone Brenda Free in the office at church (254-3770 ex. 10).  Brenda will be putting together the master list that Jamie will use as the Helping Hands Coordinator.

Second, as we become aware of needs, the pastoral staff will review the situation, and then send the name on to Jamie.
Third, Jamie will contact the helper(s) and put this ministry in motion.

We believe that we can provide a wonderful, caring ministry amongst many in the parish.  So, if you are willing and available, contact our Parish Administrator, Brenda, at 254-3770, or Fr. Tom, 254-3582.

STEPHEN MINISTRIES
Stephen Ministry helps pastors and congregation leaders equip lay persons to provide one-to-one Christian care to people who are experiencing a crisis or going through a difficult time. We can expand our care giving reach and bring Christ's love and care to more people in need.
